Miami keeps making Nick Saban look like a genius with the Canes' dream CFP run

The former Alabama coach was right on the money with this statement.

The Miami Hurricanes have done what no one thought they could do and made it to the National Championship game after a 31-27 win over Ole Miss in the Fiesta Bowl. The Hurricanes were the last non-conference champion to squeak into the College Football Playoff, and many thought they didn't belong.

While even Nick Saban himself felt that Notre Dame should have been in the College Football Playoff, he didn't think it should have been in place of Miami. Actually, Saban made a claim weeks ago that has now come true, and it just further proves that Saban knows ball.

On the last weekend of the regular season for college football, Saban made a claim that if Miami gets into the College Football Playoff, then every other team needs to watch out because they have the talent to become the most dangerous team of the 12.

Well Saban, thank you for never doubting Miami.

Saban's claim was right on the money as the Hurricanes are now heading to the National Championship game for the first time since 2003. After one of the worst College Football Playoff games in history against Texas A&M, the Hurricanes have turned it up a notch and really showed they were the better team in their last two matchups.

Miami quarterback Carson Beck has proven he can show up in the big moments, and even Miami's defense took on the mentality of bend but don't break that saved them against Ole Miss and Ohio State.

Now, Miami has to play the waiting game to see who they will face in the National Championship. It will be either Indiana or Oregon that plays tonight in the other Semifinal game on ESPN at 7:30 p.m. EST. Either way, Miami is one win against from hoisting the championship trophy in their home stadium.
