Akheem Mesidor being healthy after missing the game against Stanford last week is the biggest news for Miami on the Friday Student-Athlete Availability Reporting Update posted on Friday night by by ACC. SMU has 26 players on the Friday Student-Athlete Availability Reporting Update.

Miami has six players listed as out and defensive lineman Mykah Newton and linebacker Bobby Washington as questionable for SMU on Saturday. The Hurricanes will have a full complement of players who have contributed in 2025, ready to play at SMU.

SMU starters, Quarterback Kevin Jennings, defensive tackles Jeffrey M'Ba and Jeffrey Webb, wide receivers Romello Brinson and Jordan Hudson and tight end R.J. Maryland (son of Miami legend Russell Maryland) are listed as probable for Miami.

Defensive end Cameron Robertson, former Miami running back Chris Johnson, safety Tyren Polley and TE Matthew Hibner are questionable for SMU. Robertson is one of SMU's best players with 38 tackles, 8.0 tackles for loss, 5.0 sacks, two passes defended, one forced fumble and two fumble recoveries in 2025.

Hibner provides SMU with a good tandem with Maryland and has 15 receptions for 133 yards and two TDs in 2025. The only SMU player on the two-deep depth chart listed as out is cornerback Jaelyn Davis-Robinson. Davis-Robinson has 19 tackles, two interceptions and three passes defended in 2025.

Losing Davis-Robinson on Saturday hurts the depth for a very maligned SMU secondary. SMU has the second-worst pass defense nationally, allowing 303.5 yards per game. If Robertson cannot play it would be a significant loss to the SMU DL.

Backup DT Kevin Allen is also listed as probable for SMU. With the chance to play against his former Miami teammates, expect Johnson Jr. to do everything he can to play on Saturday. Johnson Jr. is in his first season with SMU after transferring from Miami. Brinson is in his third SMU season after transferring from Miami.

With the extensive injuries to SMU, depth and fatigue will be a story to monitor on Saturday versus Miami. The weather should not be a factor with the temperature forecast between 58 and 63 degrees in the three-hour window when the game is played.
