Louisville rallied after a two-run Max Galvin home run gave Miami an early lead and the Cardinals earned a 3-2 win in the decisive Super Regional game three on Sunday. Louisville advances to the College World Series in Omaha, Nebraska, on Friday.

The HR by Galvin gave Miami a 2-0 lead in the top of the third inning. Louisville answered in the bottom of the fourth inning. Garret Pike had a one-out bunt single. Zion Rose doubled Pike home to cut the Miami lead to 2-1. Tague Davis singled Rose to third base.

Miami nearly got out of the inning with a double play, but Bayram Hot just beat the throw to first, scoring Rose to tie the game. The game stayed tied at two until the seventh. Louisville rallied with two outs in the seventh inning. Jake Monroe and Eddie King, who each hit two HRs in the Super Regional, spurred the Louisville rally.

Monroe singled with one out and advanced to second on a wild pitch. King hit a shallow fly ball to center field that Michael Torres was unable to catch after he dove for the ball and Monroe scored what proved to be the winning run. Pike flew out to left to end the inning.

Miami had chances to rally in the eighth and ninth innings. Daniel Cuvet doubled with one out in the eighth, but Derek Williams and Dorian Gonzalez flew out, leaving him stranded. Tanner Smith and Jake Kulikowski walked with one out in the ninth inning. Michael Torres stuck out and Jake Ogden flew out to CF to end the game.

Miami and Louisville were able to get out of jams earlier in the game. Louisville loaded the bases with one out in the bottom of the fifth inning. Will Smith, who came in with one out in the fifth, walked the first two batters he faced, then struck out Pike and got Rose to ground out to Cuvet at third.

Reese Lumpkin started and kept Miami in the game in 3.2 innings, allowing five hits, two earned runs with a walk, a hit batter and two strikeouts. Rob Evans, Smith, Carson Fischer and Jackson Cleveland also pitched for Miami. Smith took the loss, allowing the two decisive run in the seventh.

Louisville advances to play the winner of Florida State and Oregon State, who play a decisive game three in Corvallis tonight. Miami finishes the 2025 season 35-27. Cuvet will set the foundation for Miami in the 2026 lineup and Tate DeRias and Lumpkin provide Miami a good top of the rotation for next season.
