At this point in the offseason, there aren't many stud wideouts left for the Miami Hurricanes to go after in the transfer portal. However, things just changed for Mario Cristobal and his coaching staff in Coral Gables, as a big-time name is looking for a new home.
According to 247Sports' Matt Zenitz, stud Penn State wide receiver Harrison Wallace is planning to enter the transfer portal. Wallace is coming off a strong season for the Nittany Lions, being a key reason for why this team was able to make the College Football Playoff and reach the semifinals.
This past season for Penn State, Wallace, a 6-1, 200-pounder, posted 46 receptions for 720 yards and four touchdowns. There's plenty of youth being featured for Miami's 2025 roster, but adding someone this late in the game could prove to be gold for the Canes. Will Cristobal make a call?
Star Penn State WR Harrison Wallace will enter the transfer portal
Plenty of Miami fans are still talking about the addition of Carson Beck and rightfully so. With that said, bringing in some more help on offense would make things even sweeter for Cristobal and his staff. There's been plenty of speculation that maybe Miami will bring in another WR in the spring.
However, if Wallace is looking for a new program to suit up for now, then it could make sense for the Canes to do their research and see if he'd be a quality addition for the team. From our chair, it would seem like a no-brainer to try and get him to town for an official visit.
Wallace has fantastic speed and his strong hands would be a welcome addition if Cristobal does end up making a move for him. CJ Daniels is already in town, while the freshman incoming class at WR provides plenty of blazing speed too. Rising sophomore JoJo Trader has plenty of people still talking following his showing in the Pop-Tarts Bowl as well.
Yes, the young talent on the team will be exciting to watch develop, but if you can add an experienced wideout to work alongside Daniels, then Cristobal needs to make it happen. Wallace will definitely be a transfer target to keep an eye on moving forward, especially after Miami swung and missed with Boise State's Prince Strachan, who ended up signing with USC.
