Miami is fourth in the USA Today LMB Coaches Poll released on Sunday. Miami moved up one spot following their 53-31 win over Duke on Saturday. Penn State dropped to seventh after being ranked third in the Coaches Poll last week. Miami was fifth in the Associated Press Top 25 and the Coaches Poll last week.

Miami received 1,194 points in the week 11 USA Today LMB Coaches Poll. Oregon was first. Oregon who is the only other undefeated team in the top eight nationally is first nationally with 1,349 points. Georgia is second with 1,267 points at 8-1 and Ohio State moved up one spot to third with 1,245 points at 8-1.

Miami is one of four ACC teams in the week 11 rankings. SMU moved up five spots to 15th with 603 points after their 48-25 win over Pittsburgh on Saturday night. Clemson is 6-2 after a 33-21 loss to Louisville and dropped nine spots to 17th nationally with 513 points. Pittsburgh dropped six spots to 23rd with 178 points.

Louisville is 27th with 38 points. As the rankings currently sit Miami would be the third seed in the College Football Playoff. Either Oregon or Ohio State will not finish in the top three seeds for the College Football Playoff. If Miami wins the ACC they cannot finish lower than the fourth seed in the CFP.

Iowa State who was previously the highest-ranked Big XII team dropped eight spots after Texas Tech gave the Cyclones their first loss of the season on Saturday night. BYU moved up three spots to ninth at 8-0 and are the highest-ranked Big XII team. That puts Miami in an excellent position to be the third seed.

If Miami and SMU win out, they will play in the ACC Championship Game on December 7 in Charlotte. Miami is 9-0 overall and 5-0 in the ACC. SMU is 8-1 overall and 5-0 in the ACC. BYU beat SMU 18-15 in September to give the Mustangs their only loss this season. Miami is at Georgia Tech on Saturday before a bye week.
