There are a lot of important things happening in regard to Miami Hurricanes football this week, especially with a big game tomorrow. But it's always important to keep an eye on recruiting for the future.
Trent Seaborn, one of the top quarterbacks in the 2027 class, is Miami's top QB option in the class and the 4-star prospect from Alabama has been on campus multiple times this season. But this week, Seaborn will be staying closer to home and taking in the Alabama-Tennessee game from Tuscaloosa.
Seaborn has been one of the more intriguing recruits over several years. He led Thompson High to a 7A championship as an eighth grader and earlier this year Seaborn reportedly turned down a massive NIL contract that would have forced him to transfer to a school outside of Alabama.
“The amount of stress, the amount of things my family went through just to move out here and play at Thompson — because of how special a place it is here, the place that coach Freeman has built here, honestly I wouldn’t trade it for any amount of money," Seaborn told On3 Sports.
Where does Miami stand with Seaborn?
Seaborn is definitely Miami's top target, and he's one of Alabama's top targets. The Crimson Tide will also have another top 2027 quarterback, Elijah Havens, on campus this weekend. Seaborn has been to Coral Gables a few times and always referred to the Hurricanes as one of his top schools.
Can’t thank @CanesFootball enough for an incredible experience this weekend. Be back soon 🤞🏽🙌🏽 🟩🟧 @coach_cristobal @CoachDawson_UM @dtrain2901 @Max_Drisko @Matthew_Suero @Daylyn2025 @AL7AFootball @RecruitWarriors @raisingchamps_ pic.twitter.com/OznOespugU

Since his trip to watch Miami-USF in September, Seaborn has been to Tuscaloosa to watch Alabama play Vanderbilt and will be back to watch the Crimson Tide play Tennessee this weekend. So it's important that the Hurricanes staff get Seaborn back on campus in the next few weeks. The Syracuse game on November 8 looks like the last opportunity for Miami to put together a big recruiting push during the season.
Seaborn hasn't announced a time period to make a decision. Most top QB prospects in the 2027 class are going to make decisions before the spring.
