On3’s list of the 10 Biggest Summer Recruiting Winners notably excluded the Miami Hurricanes, meaning they failed to generate the high-impact summer momentum to crack the list. That absence raises eyebrows, but when you dig into the recruiting picture, Miami remains a steady force even without the recognition.

The list, which focused on June and July, was created by On3's Hayes Fawcett and goes as follows:
1. Oregon
2. Alabama
3. Texas
4. Georgia
5. Notre Dame
6. USC
7. Texas A&M
8. Michigan
9. Tennessee
10. Florida State
Miami slipped in On3’s summer rankings not due to a weak class overall, but simply a lack of turn‑around flips or multiple five-star additions in that window. Compare that to programs like Oregon or LSU, which stacked on big commits in July and reshuffled the recruiting landscape.
After Miami secured a commitment from the No. 1 overall prospect, offensive tackle Jackson Cantwell, they vaulted into the top‑10 of On3’s team recruiting rankings, rising from No. 11 to No. 8 overall. The Hurricanes have been hovering around that area in the rankings for a while now. According to On3, Miami’s 2026 class currently includes 22 commits, with a 91.00 industry rating and is ranked as the 10th-best in the country
Miami’s strength is its consistency. The program regularly retains local talent — 13 Rivals300 four-star recruits in the 2025 haul alone — and avoids the volatility of blockbuster flips. Recent additions, like wide receiver Somourian Wingo, pulled from South Carolina and Florida, shows that Miami can also land quality prospects on the recruiting trail. Miami has also battled Georgia — and won — in recruiting battles for prospects in the Class of 2026. Some of the notable commits in June and July for Miami are listed below:
- Asharri Charles– Industry rating 91.30
- Somourian Wingo– Industry rating 92.16
- Israel Briggs – Industry rating 92.16
- Vance Spafford – Industry rating 92.76
