Miami at Virginia Tech on November 22 has been placed on a six-day hold as announced by the ACC on Monday. Pittsburgh at Georgia Tech, Duke at North Carolina and Louisville at SMU on November 22 have also been placed on six-day holds by the ACC.

A six-day hold is when conferences push back the announcement of game times and television networks on the Sunday before the contest is played. The ACC announced three other games for November 22 with kickoff times and television networks, plus Syracuse at Notre Dame that had been previously scheduled.

Pittsburgh at Georgia Tech and Louisville at SMU projects to have huge impacts on the race for a berth in the ACC Championship Game. Georgia Tech, Pittsburgh, SMU and Virginia are currently tied for first in the ACC with 4-1 records. Duke is a half game behind Georgia Tech, Pittsburgh, SMU and Virginia at 4-1 in the ACC.

Louisville and Miami are tied a game behind the leaders with 4-2 ACC records. The Cardinals hold the tiebreaker over the Hurricanes after defeating Miami last month. Miami needs a lot to happen to earn a berth in the ACC Championship game.

Miami is at Virginia Tech for the first time in three years after the rivalry had a one-year hiatus in 2023. The Hokies and Hurricanes played every season from 1992 through 2022 before not playing in 2023. Miami had a controversial win over Virginia Tech in 2024 when a Hail Mary was called into question on whether or not it was a catch.

The Miami win over Virginia Tech in 2024 was the fourth consecutive for the Hurricanes over the Hokies. Miami has defeated Virginia six of the last seven times and in seven of the last nine games between the teams. Virginia Tech is 3-6 overall and 2-3 in the ACC ahead of playing at Florida State on Saturday.
