Regarded as one of the best offensive lines nationally in 2024, Miami has metrics to back that up. Pick Six Previews posted on Thursday that Miami had the top run push metric nationally in 2024. When Miami committed to the run, they were one of the best teams on the ground nationally in 2024.

Miami was sixth nationally averaging 5.67 yards per carry in 2024. The Hurricanes rushing offensive was relatively consistent throughout the 2024 season. Miami averaged 6.52 YPC versus non-conference opponents and led the ACC in YPC throughout the season and with a 5.13 YPC in conference games.

Miami freshman Jordan Lyle was exceptional in a limited role in 2024 with the offensive line opening holes for him. Lyle was 10th nationally averaging 7.43 YPC with 54 carries for 400 yards. Damien Martinez finished 36th nationally averaging 6.3 YPC with 159 carries for 1,002 yards.

The Miami offensive line was rewarded for its success with right tackle Francis Mauigoa earning second-team All-ACC and left guard/tackle Jalen Rivers, center Zach Carpenter and right guard Anez Cooper all earning honorable mention all-conference for their performances during the 2024 season.

Miami was the only ACC team in the top 10 nationally in the OL run push metric. Clemson was 11th nationally in run push metric and North Carolina was 12th. Miami did not play Clemson or North Carolina during the 2024 season. Miami should continue to be strong on the offensive line in 2025.

Carpenter and Rivers are the only departing OL from the 2024 Miami roster. Tackle Markel Bell who played significant snaps in 2024 and Matthew McCoy who was the primary starting left guard are returning for Miami on the OL. Miami also added TCU center James Brockermeyer to replace Carpenter.

Miami has had significant success in the last two seasons at center with Central Florida transfer Matt Lee in 2023 and Carpenter from Indiana in 2024 transferring in to Miami. Brockermeyer provides Miami with an experienced transfer center for the third consecutive year in 2025.
