Miami rallied from a 4-1 deficit after 4.5 innings to beat Duke 8-6 on Sunday and win the three-game weekend series. The Hurricanes won their second consecutive weekend series after winning two out of three at Pittsburgh last weekend. A five-run fifth inning gave Miami its first lead on Sunday.
Duke got on the board in the top of the first inning on a two-run home run by Tyler Albright. Daniel Cuvet cut the margin in half with a solo HR in the bottom of the fourth inning for Miami. Duke extended its lead to 4-1 in the top of the fifth inning on a two-run HR by Jake Hyde.
A two-run HR by Evan Taveras and a bases-clearing double by Cuvet provided Miami with a five-run fifth inning to put the Hurricanes in front 6-4. A two-run HR by Jake Berger hit a two-run HR in the top of the sixth for Duke to tie the game at seven. Dorian Gonzalez closed out the scoring with solo HRs in the sixth and eighth to give Miami the 8-6 win.
Six Miami players had hits on Sunday. Cuvet had two hits in four at-bats with a run scored and four runs batted in. Gonzalez had three hits in four at-bats with three runs scored and two RBIs. Will Smith pitched 2.1 innings with five strikeouts in relief to earn the win for Miami. Brian Walters got the side down in order in the ninth.

Ryan Higgins took the loss for Duke. Reid Easterley was the only one of four pitchers for Duke who did not allow a run. Smith and Walters combined to retire the last 11 Duke hitters. Miami remains home this week against Florida Atlantic on Tuesday and a three-game ACC weekend series versus Georgia Tech from Friday through Sunday.
