Miami pivots quickly from WR Malachi Toney, flipping Josh Moore from Florida
Miami flipped four-star Pembroke Pines, West Broward wide receiver Joshua Moore from Florida on Tuesday. At 6'4 and 205 pounds Moore provides Miami with needed size at WR in the future. Moore is the second WR in the 2025 class. Miami previously receieved a commitment from three-star WR Daylyn Upshaw in the 2025 class.
Moore is the 168th prospect, 17th WR and 26th player in Florida in the 2025 class. Per Gaby Urrutia of Inside the U, Moore has 32 receptions for 510 yards and five touchdowns this season. Entering the 2024 season, Moore had 100 receptions for 1,869 yards and 20 TDs.
Moore is the 22nd commit in the 2025 Miami class which now ranks 12th in the 247Sports composite rankings. Moore and Upshaw will join 2024 four-star Miami WR signees Ny Carr, Chance Robinson and Joshisa Trader. There will be opportunities for Moore and Upshaw with Jacolby George and Xavier Restrepo in their final seasons.
Sam Brown, Isaiah Horton, RayRay Joseph and Shermar Kirk are the other WRs on the 2024 Miami roster will eligibility remaining beyond this season. Expect Miami to try and sign a third WR in the 2025 class or target a player through transfer portal to add to the roster for next season.
Moore has five reported visits to Coral Gables per 247Sports with the most recent being his official visit the weekend of June 7. The five visits to Miami are the most per 247Sports. Moore reportedly visited Florida State three times and Florida twice per 247Sports. On3 lists Florida as the leader with five visits.
Moore initially committed to Florida on June 26 after official visits to Coral Gables, Gainesville and Tallahassee earlier in the month. While Miami's 2025 class rose with the Moore commitments, Florida now is 37th with the defection. Florida State has the 34th-ranked 2025 class.
