Miami quarterback Carson Beck was named to the 2025 Johnny Unitas Golden Arm Award preseason watch list. He was one of 58 quarterbacks nationally recognized by the Golden Arm Educational Foundation announced.
The Golden Arm, now in its 39th year, honors the nation’s top senior or upperclassman quarterback on track to graduate. Semifinalists and finalists will be announced during the season, with the winner to be honored in December in Baltimore. The ACC led all leagues with 13 quarterbacks on the Golden Arm list.
Beck, a Georgia transfer who enrolled at Miami in January, went 24–3 as the Bulldogs’ starter and topped 7,900 career passing yards in Athens. His 2023 campaign included 3,941 passing yards with 24 touchdowns against six interceptions, followed by 3,485 yards and 28 touchdowns in 2024.
The watch-list nod continues a string of preseason recognition for Beck, who has already appeared on the Maxwell Award and Walter Camp Player of the Year lists.
Beck has been ranked as the No. 1 overall transfer in the 2025 cycle, and with all of the preseason watch lists coming in for him, the pressure remains. Last year a lot of NFL Draft analysts were projecting Beck to be either the No. 1 overall pick or go in the first round. This season he will look to prove them right, just one year later.
