Miami quarterback Darian Mensah said Vandrevius Jacobs and Somourian Wingo are the two receivers he expects to step forward after Josh Moore's season-ending injury.
"Yeah, I think there's a bunch of guys who could step up, but the two that come to mind I'd say are Dre [Vandrevius] Jacobs and Somourian Wingo. I think they're explosive playmakers, and they've got the opportunity. And so I think it's their time to go take advantage of it."Darian Mensah

Moore is out for the year with an upper-body injury from Friday's 33-20 win at Wake Forest, so naturally there will need to be a WR who steps up.
The 6-foot-4 sophomore had seven catches for 107 yards and two touchdowns this season, including a 55-yard score against Florida A&M. He finished 2025 with 17 catches for 210 yards and two touchdowns. For his career he has put up 24 catches for 317 yards and four touchdowns.
Vandrevius Jacobs is a 6-foot redshirt junior from Fort Pierce who played at Vero Beach High School. He has two catches for 38 yards and a touchdown this season, both against Florida A&M. His college career began at Florida State in 2023, then he transferred to South Carolina in 2024 and 2025, before coming to Miami this fall. He has 49 catches for 827 yards and six touchdowns in 28 college games.
Wingo is a 6-foot-2, 195-pound freshman from St. Augustine and was the highest-rated receiver in Miami's 2026 class. He has four catches for 86 yards and a touchdown through three games, including a 47-yard score against Florida A&M. He had two catches for 27 yards in the opener at Stanford and two receptions for 59 yards against the Rattlers.
Daylyn Upshaw, Cooper Barkate, Milan Parris and Vance Spafford are among the other WR options that will look to take some of the pressure off of Malachi Toney.
