Miami remains the same in AP Top 25 and AFCA Coaches Poll
Miami remained sixth in the Associated Press Top 25 and USA Today Coaches Polls for week eight after their bye week. Ohio State who lost 32-31 at Oregon on Saturday night was the only team ranked ahead of Miami to lose in week seven. Miami is closer to fifth-ranked Ohio State than seventh-ranked Alabama.
Miami received 1,105 points in the Coaches Poll. Ohio State fell three spots to fifth after the loss to Oregon and has 1,141 points. Alabama is seventh with 1,010 points. Alabama survived a wild finish against South Carolina with a 27-25 win. Miami had 1,085 points in the week seven coaches poll.
Miami received 1,232 points in the AP Top 25. Georgia is fifth with 1,300 points. Alabama is seventh in the AP Top 25 with 1,127 points. Miami received 1,187 points in the week seven AP Top 25. Georgia was fifth in the week seven AP Top 25 with 1, 299 points. Georgia beat Mississippi State 41-31 on Saturday.
Miami is one of four ranked ACC teams in the Top 25. Clemson is 10th in the AP Top 25 and 11th in the AFCA Coaches Poll. Pittsburgh is 20th in both polls. SMU is 21st in the AP Top 25 and 23rd in the AFCA Coaches poll. Pittsburgh plays at SMU on November 2 and hosts Clemson on November 16.
Clemson, Miami and SMU do not play this season. The games Pittsburgh plays versus Clemson and SMU will be critical in the race to earn a berth in the ACC Championship game. Clemson is the current favorite to win the ACC by Fan Duel at plus 150 and Miami is at plus 160 to win the ACC.
Pittsburgh is currently 6-0 after beating California 17-15 on Saturday. Clemson is 4-1 in 2024 and SMU is 5-1. Miami does not have a game remaining in the regular season versus a ranked opponent. Miami plays at Louisville on Saturday. Louisville was 36th in the week eight AP Top 25 and 38th in the AFCA Coaches Poll./
