Miami remains third in post week 10 College Football Playoff rankings prediction
Miami had to rally from a double-digit second-half deficit for the third time this season in a 52-31 win over Duke on Saturday. Duke led 28-17 before Miami had a 36-3 run to earn the win. Miami remains third in post week 10 College Football Playoff rankings predictions.
The top three teams in the 12-team post week 10 College Football Rankings Playoff Predictions remained the same. Oregon won 38-17 at Michigan, Georgia survived Florida 34-20 after Gators' quarterback D.J. Lagway was injured and as previously mentioned Miami pulled away from Duke.
The shakeup in the rankings after week 10 occurred with Iowa State who was projected as the fourth seed and final bye in the College Football Playoff as the top-ranked Big XII team. Iowa State lost 23-22 on Saturday for its first 2024 loss. The loss dropped Iowa State into a second-place tie with Colorado at 4-1 in the Big XII.
Ohio State earned a key 20-13 win at Penn State on Saturday. Indiana plays at Ohio State on November 23 in what will essentially be a Big 10 semifinal. If Ohio State wins they will have victories over Indiana and Penn State who would only have one Big 10 loss if they win out. Ohio State would own the tiebreakers.

The 33-21 home loss by Clemson to Louisville drops the Tigers out of the predicted College Football Playoff. Texas A&M was poised to earn the final predicted spot in the CFP but lost 44-20 at South Carolina a week after beating LSU. The final spot after week 10 is likely between Alabama and SMU.
At 8-1 and after beating Pittsburgh 48-25 on Saturday, the Mustangs should get the nod over Alabama despite the Crimson Tide being third in the ESPN Football Power Index. Alabama has losses to Georgia and Vanderbilt. The only loss for SMU was to BYU in September. SMU likely has to win out to earn a CFP berth.
Texas is sixth in the projected CFP followed by Penn State who is seventh, Tennessee eighth, Indiana ninth, Notre Dame 10th, SMU 11th and Boise State 12th as the top-ranked Group of Five team. If Miami wins the ACC and gets the bye, they would play the winner of SMU at Texas in this week's predictions.
Miami is in an excellent position. The Hurricanes will be heavy favorites in their last three regular-season games at Georgia Tech, Wake Forest and at Syracuse. If Miami wins those three games they will have nearly clinched a CFP berth no matter what happens in the ACC Championship Game.
