Miami returns to all-white stormtroopers for Halloween night trip to North Carolina

The Miami Hurricanes will wear their all-white combination.

The Miami Hurricanes will wear their all-white "Stormtrooper" combination for Saturday night's Halloween game against the North Carolina Tar Heels.

Miami announced the look on Thursday, pairing white helmets with white jerseys and white pants (the program's standard road uniform).

The No. 1 Hurricanes are undefeated in the combination this season after road wins at Stanford (45-6), Wake Forest (33-20) and Clemson (41-13).

North Carolina enters at 4-3 overall and 2-2 in ACC play, while Miami (7-0, 5-0 ACC) arrives as a two-touchdown favorite. The Hurricanes are seeking their first win in Chapel Hill since 2017 and first victory in the series since 2018. North Carolina has won the past five meetings and holds a series edge 16-11.

Season uniform decisions

The Hurricanes have largely stuck to a simple rotation. The all-white Stormtroopers have served as the primary road look, and at home they have worn the traditional white helmet, orange jersey and white pants combination against Florida A&M and Florida State. The green alternate (white helmet, green jersey, green pants) appeared once, in a 52-3 win over Central Michigan.

Last week against Pittsburgh, Miami debuted the home version of its 2001 Tribute throwbacks to honor the 25th anniversary of the 2001 national championship team. The road version of those throwbacks (white jersey with green pants) has not yet been used.

  • Oct. 3 at Clemson: White helmet, white jersey, white pants (Stormtroopers): W 41-13
  • Oct. 17 vs. Florida State: White helmet, orange jersey, white pants: W 43-35 (2OT)
  • Oct. 24 vs. Pittsburgh: 2001 Tribute (white helmet, throwback orange jersey, white pants): W 52-23
  • Oct. 31 at North Carolina: White helmet, white jersey, white pants (Stormtroopers)
