Jordan Lyle provides Miami with more breakaway speed in the backfield. Lyle has 17 carries for 44 yards in three games in 2025. Miami plays three of the six worst run defenses in the ACC in the final six games of the 2025 regular season. Pittsburgh who is first in the ACC allowing 82.43 rushing YPG and 2.24 YPC hosts Miami on November 29 in the final game of the 2025 regular season.
Miami hosts Stanford on Saturday. Stanford is sixth in the ACC allowing 117.29 rushing YPG but 11th with opponents averaging 3.89 YPC. Miami plays at SMU on November 1. SMU is third in the ACC allowing 97.00 rushing YPG and second with opponents averaging 2.84 YPC.
Miami should have opportunities over its final six games for success running. Pittsburgh and SMU could make Miami one dimensional with their run defense. Offensive coordinator Shannon Dawson and running backs coach Matt Merritt need to find ways to improve the Miami rushing offense.
