The Hurricanes now lead the country with four 5-star commitments in the 2027 class after 247Sports expanded its 5-star group to 32 prospects for the first time in the cycle. No other program has more than two 5-star commitments in the updated 247Sports rankings.

The four Miami commits inside the updated 247Sports top 32 are cornerback Donte Wright at No. 7 overall, quarterback Israel Abrams at No. 9, wide receiver Nick Lennear at No. 18 and EDGE Jaiden Bryant at No. 20. Each is also ranked among the best players at his position, with Wright No. 2 among cornerbacks, Abrams No. 2 among quarterbacks, Lennear No. 3 among wide receivers and Bryant No. 3 among EDGE prospects.

Wright, a Long Beach Poly cornerback, flipped from Georgia to Miami in May. Abrams, a 6-foot-4, 187-pound quarterback, checks in as the No. 9 overall prospect and is one of the most important commitments in the class and for the future of the program. Lennear is a big local win for Cristobal and Bryant flipped from LSU to Miami earlier in June.

Miami also has linebacker A.J. Randle Jr. at No. 54 overall and interior offensive lineman Jatori Williams at No. 96, giving the Hurricanes six top-100 commits in the updated 247Sports rankings. Ezekiel Ayangbile, Sean Tatum, Ai'King Hall, Noah Glover and Jaylyn Jones also sit inside the Top247.

Every single one of the 18 commits in the 2027 Miami class has shut down their recruitment.

The Hurricanes are also still chasing more. No. 1 overall prospect DJ Jacobs, Tampa Jesuit linebacker Kaden Henderson, Macon safety Ta'Shawn Poole, Temecula wide receiver Eli Woodard, Spain Park defensive lineman Marquis Evans and North Miami Beach safety Andre Hyppolite are among the top 2027 targets still tied to Miami's board.
