Miami's Hall of Fame ceremony for the 2026 class lands on NFL draft night

UM will induct a 10-member Hall of Fame class on Thursday as the 2026 NFL draft begins.

Miami will hold its annual Sports Hall of Fame induction banquet Thursday night at the Watsco Center, putting a football-heavy celebration on the same night the first round of the 2026 NFL draft begins in Pittsburgh at 8 p.m. ET.

The 10-member Class of 2026 includes Duke Johnson, Mike Rumph, Duane Starks and former Hurricanes coach and quarterback Mark Richt.

The full class also includes Sam Dorman in diving, Wendy Foote in women's basketball, Bryan Garcia in baseball, Savanah Leaf in volleyball, Phallon Tullis-Joyce in soccer and Shakima Wimbley in track and field. Former baseball player and longtime Hurricanes supporter Tommy Adams will receive the Distinguished Service Award.

Johnson remains Miami's all-time leading rusher with 3,519 yards and also owns the school record for all-purpose yards with 5,526. Richt, who returned to coach his alma mater from 2016-18, went 26-13 at Miami, won the 2017 ACC Coastal Division title and was named both ACC Coach of the Year and Walter Camp Coach of the Year that season.

Rumph was a first-round pick in 2002 after finishing his Miami career as a two-time first-team All-Big East selection and a starter on the 2001 national championship team. Starks, a first-round pick in 1998, starred for the Hurricanes as a junior college transfer before going on to score on an interception return in the Ravens' Super Bowl XXXV win.

Dorman won the 2015 NCAA title in the 3-meter springboard and set an NCAA record in the event. Garcia remains Miami's all-time saves leader in baseball. Foote was Miami women's basketball's first 1,000-point scorer. Tullis-Joyce is now with Manchester United and the United States women's national team. Wimbley left Miami as one of the top sprinters in program and ACC history.
