ABC's No. 2 college football broadcast crew will work No. 1 Miami's Halloween night trip to North Carolina. Sean McDonough (play-by-play), Greg McElroy (color analyst) and Katie George (sideline reporter) are assigned to the game.

The pairing marks a return to the exact same matchup McDonough and McElroy called three years earlier, when No. 25 Miami fell 31-41 to the Tar Heels on Oct. 14, 2023.

A familiar Chapel Hill assignment

McDonough and McElroy watched North Carolina erase a 17-14 halftime deficit and pull away in the second half of that 2023 contest. They now return with the Hurricanes ranked No. 1, sitting at 7-0 and looking to snap North Carolina's five-game winning streak in the series.

They have called five Miami telecasts together

  • Oct. 14, 2023, Miami at North Carolina: L, 31-41
  • Nov. 11, 2023, Miami at Florida State: L, 20-27
  • Nov. 18, 2023, Miami vs. Louisville: L, 31-38
  • Aug. 31, 2025, Miami vs. Notre Dame: W, 27-24
  • Dec. 20, 2025, Miami at Texas A&M (College Football Playoff): W, 10-3

McDonough and McElroy also handled ESPN Radio's call of Miami's 21-27 loss to Indiana in the College Football Playoff title game at Hard Rock Stadium. Chris Fowler and Kirk Herbstreit called the television broadcast, with Ian Fitzsimmons and Quint Kessenich joining McDonough and McElroy on radio.

Katie George's Miami history

George worked with Joe Tessitore and McElroy for Miami's losses to Michigan State (17-38) in 2021 and Florida State (3-45) in 2022. She later covered three victories alongside Tessitore and Jesse Palmer: a 48-33 win over Texas A&M in 2023, a 41-17 win at Florida in 2024 and a 53-31 comeback against Duke later that season.
