4-star WR Eli Woodard will announce his commitment on June 30. The California standout is down to Cal, Miami and UCLA, giving the Hurricanes less than a week to close a recruitment that would be a monumental show of recruiting force for Mario Cristobal.
This is a chance to land a high-end West Coast prospect less than six weeks after he reopened his recruitment. Woodard had been committed to USC since February before backing away from that pledge on May 19 so he could take visits and explore his options. The Trojans are no longer in the running and Miami is now trying to pull a California receiver across the country over two programs that can offer the comfort of staying close to home.

USC decommit Eli Woodard will choose between Miami, Cal and UCLA
Woodard took an official visit to Miami on May 29 and followed that trip with an official visit to Cal on June 5 before visiting UCLA during the weekend of June 19. Miami has been in the race from the moment Woodard left USC's class, but the final puts UCLA in a good position to make this a three-school fight.
Woodard caught 51 passes for 1,070 yards and 17 touchdowns as a junior at Chaparral, averaging 20.98 yards per reception across 12 games. He also played defensive back and recorded 32 tackles, seven pass breakups and an interception.
247Sports ranks Woodard No. 159 overall, No. 22 at wide receiver and No. 14 in California. The Rivals Industry Ranking has him No. 156 nationally.
A Woodard commitment would pair nicely with five-star Miami Carol City receiver Nick Lennear and four-star Chaminade-Madonna receiver Ah'Mari Stevens. It would also show a level of recruiting prowess — taking a local kid out of California while defeating USC, UCLA and Cal in the process — that is hard for any program to match.
