Colorado offensive tackle Jordan Seaton, a former five-star recruit and one of the biggest names to hit the portal this cycle, has been linked to the Hurricanes almost as soon as his transfer plans became public.
Seaton, the No. 1 offensive tackle recruit in the 2024 class, has started 22 games at left tackle over two seasons in Boulder and is one of the top players available.
Let's start from the beginning of this connection between the Canes and Seaton.
Michael Irvin takes recruiting into his own hands
Miami legend Michael Irvin did what Miami legends do: recruit. Irvin reshared the Seaton news and posted on X: "If you are going to leave my boy @DeionSanders, you might as well, come and see his boy @CanesFootball ME!!!”

Seaton then responded saying, "Meet me up there @michaelirvin88."
Oregon QB Dante Moore announces he is returning
Now for the next part.
Not long after news broke that Oregon quarterback Dante Moore plans to return to college and won't enter the 2026 NFL draft, Seaton posted his own reaction on X: "Wait Dante Moore Cameback?"

Oregon has now quickly been mentioned as a potential heavyweight in Seaton's recruitment, and Moore's decision helps the Ducks recruiting pitch.
Moore announced on ESPN that he is returning to school, opting against entering the draft. He threw for 3,565 yards and 30 touchdowns while completing 71.8% of his passes as Oregon went 13-2, and he is now expected to be a top prospect for the 2027 draft.
Jordan Seaton is looking for new college football home
Seaton is 6-foot-5, 330 pounds and has NFL upside. In a year when Miami will probably lose Francis Mauigoa to the NFL draft, Seaton would fit in perfectly on the Hurricanes offensive line in 2026.
Miami's pitch is something that should interest high-caliber offensive lineman. Mario Cristobal and Alex Mirabal can make sure that Seaton reaches his full potential and ends up getting selected high in the first round.
Landing Seaton was always going to require beating other top bidders, but the latest turn is a reminder that it won't be easy, even with Miami playing in the national championship game this Monday.
