The 2027 Miami class is eighth in the 2027 247Sports Composite rankings and sixth in the On3/Rivals Industry Rankings. Miami is first in the ACC in the 247Sports and On3/Rivals rankings. Under Mario Cristobal, Miami is consistently building one of the best rosters in college football.
The 2027 class would be the fourth time in the past five years that Miami has signed a top 10 class. The last five Miami classes have been the full recruiting cycles with Mario Cristobal as head coach. Miami signed the eighth-ranked overall class and ninth in the 247Sports composite rankings.
The 2022 Miami class (signed less than a month after Cristobal was hired as head coach) finished 16th in the 247Sports composite rankings and 12th overall. The first full class under Cristobal in 2023 set the foundation for Miami advancing to the College Football Playoff Championship in 2025.
Miami signed the seventh-ranked 2023 class in composite rankings and eighth overall. The 2023 class included 2026 NFL Draft first-round picks, offensive tackle Francis Mauigoa and edge rusher Rueben Bain. Five-star OT Samson Okunlola was also a 2023 Miami signee.
Recruiting expenses across all sports; FY 2024-25 per EADA data (and currently available MFSR reports from public schools in parentheses... mostly minimal discrepancies, except Tennessee.)

Mario Cristobal's best class
Miami signed the fourth-ranked class in the 2024 247Sports composite rankings and sixth overall. The 2024 class is the best Miami has signed under Cristobal. Among the notable signees in the 2024 Miami class were defensive linemen Armondo Blount and Justin Scott and edge rusher Marquise Lightfoot.
Miami took a step back in 2025, signing the 14th-ranked class nationally. With Malachi Toney significantly exceeding his ranking as a three-star prospect and safety Bryce Fitzgerald finishing second nationally with six interceptions, the 2025 Miami class arguably outperformed its ranking.
The 2026 Miami class was ninth in the 247Sports composite and eighth in the overall rankings. Five-star offensive tackle Jackson Cantwell leads a 2026 Miami class that had six top 100 signees. Cantwell is expected to start at left tackle, replacing Markel Bell, a 2026 third-round pick.
In Cristobal's first season in 2022, Miami had the 13th-best roster nationally, per the 247Sports Team Talent Composite rankings. Miami was 12th in the 2023 Team Talent Composite, 14th in 2024 and 15th in 2025. With the last few classes, Miami should rise back up the Team Talent Composite in 2026.
Miami has also been prolific in signing transfers under Cristobal. The 2022 Miami transfer class was 12th nationally, seventh in 2023, 10th in 2024, third in 2025 and fourth in 2026. Cristobal has found a balance between his high school/junior college classes and transfers to build the talent on the Miami roster.
