Caleb Gaskins was named to the 2026 USA Basketball Men's U18 National Team and will compete at the FIBA U18 Men's AmeriCup from June 1-7 in Leon, Mexico. The tournament gives the 6-foot-8 forward another chance to play against international competition before beginning his college career under Jai Lucas.

Caleb Gaskins makes the final 12-man roster

Gaskins is one of 12 players selected for the U.S. roster after a six-day training camp at the U.S. Olympic and Paralympic Training Center in Colorado Springs, Colorado. The team was chosen from a finalist group that was cut down after camp.

The roster includes Bruce Branch III, Quentin Coleman, Adan Diggs, Gaskins, Demarcus Henry, Jasiah Jervis, Malachi Jordan, Taylen Kinney, Colben Landrew, Ethan Taylor, Davion Thompson and Darrius Wabbington.

Dayton coach Anthony Grant is leading the team, with Alabama coach Nate Oats and Colgate coach Matt Langel serving as assistants.

The United States opens Group A against Argentina at 7:30 p.m. ET on June 1, then faces Mexico at 10 p.m. ET on June 2 and Brazil at 5 p.m. ET on June 4. The tournament will stream live on FIBA's YouTube channel.

The FIBA U18 AmeriCup is one of the bigger youth international events on the calendar, and the top four teams will qualify for the 2027 FIBA U19 Men's World Cup in Pardubice, Czechia.

The United States has dominated the event historically, winning 11 gold medals in 13 appearances and seven straight titles dating to 2010.

Gaskins played for the United States at the 2026 Nike Hoop Summit in April, helping the Americans beat the World Select Team 102-100 in overtime.

Gaskins finished that game with nine points, five rebounds, two steals and one block in 23 minutes. He shot 4 of 6 from the field and made his only 3-point attempt.

Gaskins is the second-highest-rated recruit in Miami program history in the 247Sports Composite. He is ranked No. 11 nationally by Rivals and ESPN and No. 17 by 247Sports. He was also a McDonald's High School All-American.

Gaskins led Columbus to its fifth consecutive Florida state championship and earned Gatorade Florida Boys Basketball Player of the Year honors after averaging 22.6 points, 9.5 rebounds, 3.1 assists and 1.1 steals.
