Miami has won at least 10 games in consecutive seasons for the first time since 2002 and 2003. Miami won 11 games and lost two in 2003. The 2003 season concluded with a 16-14 Orange Bowl victory over Florida State.
Miami has won at least 10 games in a season 17 times. The first Miami team to win 10 games in a single season was the 1983 National Championship season. Miami lost its 1983 season opener to Florida and finished the season with 11 consecutive wins that included an upset of Nebraska in the Orange Bowl.

Progressing each season
Miami has progressed each season under Mario Cristobal. The Hurricanes won five and lost seven in their first season under Cristobal in 2022. Miami won six and lost seven in the second season under Cristobal and 2023 and improved to 10 victories and three defeats in 2024.
Miami finished the 2024 regular season with 10 wins and two losses. The Hurricanes just missed making the 12-team 2024 CFP. Miami was 13th in the final 2024 CFP rankings. Miami just made the 2025 CFP as the 10th-ranked team to earn the final at-large berth.
No matter what the outcome of the National Championship Game will be, Miami has accomplished a lot during the 2025 season. Cristobal summed up the state of the Miami football program by stating the U is here when he was asked if the Hurricanes are back.
