Miami hosted four-star safeties Cortez Redding and Blake Stewart and three-star prospects, Rutgers LB commit Justin Edwards and cornerback Kosci Barnes for official visits this past weekend. Redding is the only one of the above four prospects trending to Miami per On3.
Redding is the 314th prospect, 25th safety and 38th player in Georgia out of Jonesboro in the 2026 class. No 247Sports crystal balls are logged for Redding, but the On3 Recruiting Prediction Machine projects Miami with an 88.9 percent chance for a commitment.
Redding took official visits to Mississippi and North Carolina State before Miami. Four-star CB Jontavius Wyman, who is committed to Miami, is teammates with Redding at Jonesboro. Redding told CanesInsight he and Wyman are not a package deal.
Stewart is the 308th prospect, 24th safety and 37th player in Georgia in the 2026 class out of Atlanta Woodward Academy. Clemson, Miami and Vanderbilt have hosted Stewart for official visits, with Michigan scheduled for this weekend. No program has emerged as a clear favorite for Stewart, per On3.

Edwards is the 741st prospect, 56th LB and 94th player in Florida out of Orlando Edgewater. Rutgers received a commitment from Edwards on June 8 following his official visit the weekend of June 6. Syracuse also hosted Edwards for an official visit the weekend of May 30.
Barnes is the 61st CB and 29th player in North Carolina out of Greensboro Grimsley. There is no overall national ranking for Barnes. South Carolina and Rutgers hosted Barnes for official visits before Miami. Kentucky is scheduled to host Barnes for an official visit the weekend of June 20.
Miami will host 11 prospects, with seven on defense for the final weekend of official visits beginning on June 20. The Hurricanes 2026 class is currently eighth in the 247Sports composite rankings. Miami has one defensive lineman, one LB and three CBs out of their 11 commits in the 2026 class.
