Miami standing with defensive non-commits who took official visits this weekend

Miami hosted six 2026 defensive prospects for official visits this past weekend who are currently uncommitted.

Defensive linemen Tyson Bacon, James Johnson, Freddie Wilson and Bryce Perry-Wright and safeties Tyriq Green and Devin Jackson are uncommitted players on defense who took their offensive visits to Miami this past weekend.

Perry-Wright is the highest-ranked 2026 prospect who took his official visit to Miami last weekend. The 247Sports composite has Perry-Wright as the 38th overall prospect, the third DL and fifth player in Georgia out of Buford in the 2026 class.

Auburn and Clemson hosted Perry-Wright for official visits before Miami and Texas and Texas A&M are hosting him the next two weekends, per On3. There is a 247Sports crystal ball logged for Perry-Wright to Clemson. Auburn is the favorite with a 22.8 percent chance for a Perry-Wright commitment, per On3.

Johnson is the 69th-ranked prospect, eighth DL and 10th player in Florida out of Miami Northwestern in the 2026 class per the 247Sports composite rankings. Per On3, Illinois and Syracuse hosted Johnson before Miami and Florida and Georgia are hosting him the next two weekends.

No crystal balls have been logged for Johnson. On3 projects Florida as the leader with a 34.3 percent chance for a commitment, Miami second at 18.1 percent and Georgia third at 10.4 percent. All of the other programs are projected with a less than 10 percent chance for a Johnson commitment per On3.

Bacon is the 302nd-ranked prospect, 36th DL and 15th player in Alabama in the 2026 class out of Hoover in the 2026 247Sports composite rankings. Georgia and Florida hosted Bacon for official visits before Miami. Michigan, Alabama and Tennessee will host him later this month.

Bacon committed to Miami on Tuesday over Florida, Georgia and Ohio State. With a commitment from interior offensive lineman Canon Pickett earlier on Tuesday, the 2026 Miami class moved up to ninth nationally. Bacon is the first DL to commit to the 2026 Miami class.

Wilson is the 520th prospect, 60th DL and 72nd player in Florida out of Daytona Beach, Spruce Creek. Minnesota hosted Wilson before Miami. Georgia Tech and Houston are scheduled to host Wilson for official visits in June. On3 projects Miami as the leader for Wilson at 37.2 percent.

Green is the 151st prospect, 10th athlete and 21st player in Georgia out of Buford in the 2026 class, per the 247Sports composite rankings. On3 ranks Green as the 14th best safety in the 2026 class. Auburn hosted Green for an official visit before Miami and Florida State will host him this weekend, followed by Georgia, per On3.

One crystal ball for Green has been logged to Georgia. The Bulldogs are the favorite to receive a commitment from Green at 33.9 percent, per On3. Auburn is second with a 23.2 percent chance for a Green commitment, followed by Florida State at 11.5 and Miami at 9.5.

Jackson is the 213th prospect, 18th safety and 32nd player in Florida out of The First Academy in Orlando in the 247Sports Composite rankings. LSU hosted Jackson before Miami. Oregon, Penn State and Nebraska are scheduled to have Jackson for official visits later this month.

No crystal balls are logged for Jackson. Florida is projected as the overwhelming favorite by the On3 RPM, with an 83.6 percent chance for a commitment from Jackson. Miami is still waiting for its first commitment in the 2026 class at safety.

Miami has 11 players scheduled for official visits this weekend. Safeties Cortez Redding and Blake Stewart are among the prospects scheduled to begin their official visits to Miami on Friday. Offensive linemen J.J. Sparks and Rhys Woodrow are the only Miami commits scheduled to take official visits this weekend.
