The National Collegiate Baseball Writers Association named Miami third baseman Daniel Cuvet a second-team All-American on Wednesday. Cuvet hit .372 with a .708 slugging percentage and a .450 on-base percentage hit 18 home runs and had 84 RBIs, 84 hits, 20 doubles, and a triple in 61 games.
Cuvet was previously named second-team All-ACC. In being named the Hattiesburg Regional Most Valuable Player, Cuvet hit .385 with one home run, five runs batted in and two doubles as Miami advanced to its first super regional since the 2016 season, when the Hurricanes played in the College World Series.
Cuvet finished in the top 10 in the ACC in seven offensive categories, including leading the conference in HRs. Mississippi State sophomore Ace Reese was the first-team All-American 3B. Connecticut sophomore Tyler Minick was also named second-team All-American at 3B by the NCBWA.
Reese hit .347 with 21 HRs and 64 RBIs in 2025. Minick hit .362 with 18 HRs and 62 RBIs in 2025. Connecticut did not receive an NCAA Tournament bid this season and Mississippi State was eliminated from the Tallahassee Regional in three games with both losses to Florida State.

Cuvet was previously named a Second-Team All-American by Perfect Game on Tuesday. As a freshman in 2024, Cuvet was named a Freshman All-American by NCBWA, D1Baseball, Perfect Game and Baseball America. Cuvet set the Miami freshman single-season home run record previously held by Pat Burrell, set in 1996.
Cuvet is tied for seventh in Miami history with 42 HRs. At his current pace, Cuvet will break the Miami career record of 62 HRs set by Phil Lane from 1980 through 1982. Lane played on the 1982 Miami national championship team and is in the University of Miami Sports Hall of Fame.
Cuvet is 76 RBIs behind Mike Fiore for the Miami program record set from 1985-88 with 235. Fiore also holds the Miami record, with 506 career total bases. Cuvet has 330 career total bases. At his current pace, Cuvet would fall 11 total bases behind Fiore, which would place him second in Miami history.
Miami should get one final season out of Cuvet before he enters the 2026 MLB draft. Cuvet will be the foundation for the 2026 Miami baseball team. Miami can build on its first Super Regional Appearance since 2016.
