Five-star offensive tackle Jackson Cantwell, who is the consensus top-ranked prospect nationally, wrote on X on Thursday morning, "Might be closer to the end than I thought I was..." The caption from Cantwell was attached to an X post from February 2 that stated, "Journey is almost over...where's home?"
In the February 2 post to X, Cantwell included six hashtags indicating he was still interested in Georgia, Miami, Michigan, Missouri, Ohio State and Oregon. Cantwell is from Nixa, Missouri, which is 12 miles south of Springfield. Per his 247Sports timeline, Cantwell will take official visits to five of the six programs this spring and summer.
Miami gets the first official visit from Cantwell the weekend of May 9. Cantwell will then take official visits to Missouri the weekend of May 30, followed by Georgia on June 6, Michigan on June 13 and Oregon on June 22. Michigan, Miami and Ohio State hosted Cantwell for unofficial visits in March.
The only 247Sports crystal ball logged for Cantwell is to Miami from Inside the U staff writer Gaby Urrutia. The On3 Recruiting Prediction Machine currently lists Missouri as the leader with a 16.2 percent chance for a commitment from Cantwell, Michigan at 14.2 percent and Miami at 12.2 percent.

Georgia is at 8.2 percent for a commitment from Cantwell, Oregon at 6.2 percent and Ohio State at 4.2 percent. It should be noted that Nebraska, Alabama, Oklahoma and Arkansas are included in the top 10 teams with a chance to receive a commitment from Cantwell, per On3, but those programs are clearly out of the running.
As the recruitment for Cantwell gets closer to the end than we thought, to paraphrase him, Miami appears to be in a good position. The projected numbers from On3 project a wide-open recruitment coming down the stretch. Miami is always in a good place recruiting offensive linemen with Mario Cristobal as head coach and Alex Mirabal as the OL coach.
