Miami top 6 for North Carolina State transfer WR K.C. Concepcion
Miami learned on Tuesday they are a finalist for versatile North Carolina State transfer slot receiver K.C. Concepcion Alabama, Texas A&M, Colorado, Florida State and South Carolina are the other five programs competing to earn a commitment from the 2023 ACC Rookie of the Year.
In two seasons at North Carolina State, Concepcion had 124 receptions for 1,299 receiving yards and 16 touchdowns, 60 carries for 356 rushing yards and two scores and even completed two passes for 45 yards and a TD. Concepcion would be a perfect replacement on Miami for the Hurricanes' All-Time leading receiver Xavier Restrepo.
In his only game versus Miami, Concepcion had five receptions for 61 yards and six carries for 22 yards as North Carolina State won 20-6. Concepcion's numbers dipped in 2024 with 53 receptions for 460 yards and six TDs with only 36 yards rushing and two more scores.
As a true freshman in 2023. Concepcion had 71 receptions for 839 yards and 10 TD and 41 carries for 320 yards. Concepcion tied for first in the ACC in 2024 with 11 plays from scrimmage of 30 yards or more with Virginia wide receiver Malik Washington who led the conference in receptions and receiving yards.
Concepcion is the fifth-ranked 2025 transfer WR. Eric Singleton of Georgia Tech who is the top-ranked 2025 transfer WR is another player in the portal to watch for Miami. In addition to replacing Restrepo, Miami also loses Jacolby George who is second on Miami in receiving yards and TDs in 2024.
Miami returns Isaiah Horton who was second on the Hurricanes in receptions and third in receiving yards and TDs in 2024. Sam Brown who was the fourth WR in the Miami rotation has one year of eligibility remaining and is reportedly making a decision if he will return for the Hurricanes or enter the 2025 NFL Draft.
