The tandem of Villanova point guard Acaden Lewis and Georgia center Somto Cyril provides Miami with the fourth-best 2026 transfer class in the 247Sports rankings. Cyril, five-star freshman power forward Caleb Gaskins and Lewis give Miami the 33rd class overall in the 247Sports composite rankings.

Cyril committed to Miami on Sunday and Gaskins signed with Miami during the Early Signing period in November. Miami returns starters Shelton Henderson at small forward and Dante Allen at shooting guard in 2026-26. Cyril, Gaskins and Henderson will provide Miami with one of the best frontcourts nationally.

Cyril spent two seasons and Georgia and improved significantly in 2025-26. After playing in 33 games without a start as a freshman in 2024-25, Cyril started 32 out of 33 games in 2025-26, averaging 9.3 points, 5.4 rebounds and leading the SEC with 2.2 blocks per game while shooting 75.9 percent from the field.

Lewis averages 12.2 PPG, 3.0 RPG and led Villanova with 5.3 assists. Miami will need Lewis to improve his three-point shooting after he made 27.0 percent from beyond the arc as a freshman in 2026-27. Cyril and Lewis will start for Miami in 2026-27 with Allen, Gaskins and Henderson.

Next for Miami in the Transfer Portal

With the Miami starting five secure, head coach Jai Lucas and his staff will seek to fill out the roster and add depth. Wing Marcus Allen is expected to return after batting non-hodgkins lymphoma that caused him to miss most of the 2025-26 season.

In just over 13 months as the Miami head coach, Lucas has quickly proven to be one of the best recruiters. Lucas has signed high-level high school prospects and transfers during his short Miami tenure. Miami should continue challenging to be near the top of the ACC after finishing third in the 2025-26 regular season.

ACC rival Louisville has the top-ranked transfer class, followed by Texas and Tennessee as the only programs with better portal commits than Miami. Signing a top-five transfer class would be a major accomplishment for Lucas and his staff after they had to build an entirely new 2025-26 roster.
