Miami held firm at No. 5 in the newest AP Top 25, while Oregon climbed to No. 4 and Georgia slipped to No. 6, setting up a Week 3 slate that now includes a top-25 showcase at Hard Rock Stadium. The poll’s new top eight: Ohio State (57 first-place votes), Penn State (5), LSU (2), Oregon (1), Miami, Georgia, Texas, and Notre Dame.

Georgia’s first two weeks
Georgia is 2–0 with a 45–7 cruise vs. Marshall and a 28–6 win over Austin Peay. QB Gunner Stockton accounted for 4 TDs (2 pass, 2 rush) vs. Marshall, while RBs Chauncey Bowens and Nate Frazier each scored twice against Austin Peay. The defense has allowed 196 total yards or fewer in Week 2 and just 13 points combined. Next up is a matchup at No. 15 Tennessee (which also just so happens to be the site of ESPN's College Gameday).
Oregon’s first two weeks
Oregon opened 59–13 over Montana State (QB Dante Moore had 3 TD passes in the game) and detonated Oklahoma State 69–3, piling up 631 yards with two pick-sixes in the third quarter. Moore threw for 266 yards and 3 TDs vs. OSU and nine different Ducks scored. The dominant performance came after a week of talk between Dan Lanning and Mike Gundy over disputed claims regarding Oregon's spending. The big win over a P4 opponent, and Georgia's less-than-dominant game against Austin-Peay, may have been the reason for the change in the AP Poll.
Miami's perspective
It's unfortunate that Miami has a resume with a top-10 win and ended up being jumped by a team that ran the score up on a Big 12 team that finished 3-9 last year. The move doesn't make much sense. But, Miami will get a chance to potentially move up the rankings once more if they can handle business against No. 18 USF next Saturday.
