The excitement for Miami football fans could not be higher right now. Expected to roll over and lose to Texas A&M in College Station on Saturday, the Canes were able to claw their way to a 10-3 win. No, it wasn't a pretty game, but Miami made the needed plays late to win and set up a date vs. Ohio State.

That game is coming on Dec. 31 in Texas, as the CFP quarterfinals await. Not long after the final whistle, the opening betting line was released and according to the FanDuel sportsbook, Ohio State is favored by 10.5 points. So, Sin City doesn't think this one will be close? Unfortunately for Miami supporters, that appears to be the case.

Ohio State has opened as a 10.5-point favorite against Miami football

This shouldn't come as a major surprise for Miami, as the play against Texas A&M was quite sloppy for the most of the game. However, the Hurricanes were able to take a 10-3 lead thanks to Malachi Toney and his touchdown on 3rd down.

That play was of course set up by the incredible 56-yard run by Mark Fletcher Jr. Toney, who fumbled on a catch in the fourth quarter too, was over the moon with his game-winner and his postgame reaction is something that people are still talking about.

While the players are likely still celebrating that win, they'll all need to regroup soon and get ready for a tough challenge ahead against the reigning national champs. The last time we all saw Ohio State on the field, the Buckeyes suffered a loss to Indiana in the Big Ten title game.

Since then, it has been made more than clear that the Ohio State locker room is quite motivated to silence all of the haters who have been going after them. That's not good for Miami, as it's going to be taking on a ticked off team. Miami will have to be at its best to keep things close, but the opening line indeed is a bit sobering for everyone who is so excited right now.
