Miami will play Boston College in the 13th annual ALS Awareness Game at Fenway Park on April 27. Boston College and the Red Sox jointly announced the game on Tuesday. The ALS Awareness game honors former BC captain Pete Frates, who was diagnosed with ALS in 2012 and died from the disease in 2019.
Frates helped create the Ice Bucket Challenge, which raised over $220 million for ALS research. The ALS Awareness Game is being played at Fenway Park for the sixth time and tickets can be purchased at the Red Sox website. Per Boston College, the game benefits the Pete Frates Foundation.
Miami will play in the ALS Awareness Game for the first time in 2025. The last time Miami played at Boston College in 2021, they lost two out of three games. Miami won two out of three in Coral Gables against Boston College in their last series versus the Eagles in 2022.
Miami leads the all-time series versus Boston College 27-11. The Hurricanes have a 25- 11 edge over the Eagles in ACC Games. Boston College and Miami first played each other as ACC members in 2008. Miami won the first seven games of its series versus Boston College. The Eagles earned their first win over the Hurricanes in 2009.
