Miami women's basketball adds 2 former All-Conference transfers

The Miami women's basketball program announced the additions of guard Vittoria Blasigh from South Florida, who was the American Athletic Conference 2023-24 Freshman of the Year and forward Mya Kone, who was named 2024 first-team All-Conference USA and the Sixth Player of the Year at Florida International.

Kone has played 44 games with 11 starts over three seasons at James Madison and FIU, averaging 9.1 points per game and 6.4 rebounds while shooting 37.5 percent from the field, 62.5 percent from the free throw line and 30.1 percent on three-point attempts throughout her collegiate career.

In her only full season in college, Kone averaged 11.3 PPG, 8.0 rebounds, 1.0 assists, 1.1 blocks and shot 37.3 percent from the field, 29.5 percent on three-point attempts and 78.9 percent from the free throw line in 33 games with 11 starts during the 2023-24 season. Kone played in only one game in 2024-25.

Kone who is from Pompano Beach sustained a season ending injury after scoring 21 points on seven of 13 from the floor, two of five from beyond the arc and five of eight from the free throw line with 14 rebounds, two assists and three blocks in her only appearance during the 2024-25 season.

Blasigh started 55 out of the 67 games she played in two seasons at South Florida, averaging 11.9 PPG, 2.6 RPG and 1.9 APG while shooting 39.7 percent from the field, 34.8 percent on three-point attempts and 82.4 percent from the free throw line. South Florida signed Blasigh out of Udine, Italy.

Per the official release from Miami about the additions of Blasigh and Kone, the former played for the Italian national team in the 2023 U19 FIBA Women's World Cup finishing fifth in the tournament, averaging 16 PPG and U20 Women's European Championships, where she posted 9.1 PPG.

Blasigh and Kone add experience to the 2025-26 Miami roster with head coach Tricia Cullop signing the ninth-ranked 2025 class per ESPN. Miami signed four players in the top 100 of the 2025 class, led by guard Camille Williams. After a 14-15 2024-25 season, the future looks bright for Miami.
