Mike Norvell is still out here complaining about these refs.
The Florida State coach reached out to the ACC head of officiating after the penalties that were called against his team in the Miami Hurricanes' 43-35 double-overtime victory two weeks ago. And in his Monday media availability, Novell was still at it.
"They can be game changers. They can be life changers"

"Some of those moments, I mean those are...they can be game changers. They can be life changers," he said.
You know what's life changing? Going 2-10 after a 13-1 season. That's life-changing. Not winning a road game in nearly three years is life changing. Complaining about officials a week after a game just makes you a loser.
(Norvell looks awful, by the way. He looks like he hasn't slept in a week and stopped shaving.)
Miami moves on while Mike Norvell makes sure FSU gets left behind
There's a lot going on around college football these days. Miami's president, Joe Echevarria, recently floated the idea of Hurricanes football going the independent route, ripping the financial disparity that has completely buried the ACC in a sea of mediocrity.
FSU was one of the programs which decided to take action to get better conditions. Miami, Clemson, and North Carolina all jumped on board. However, in order to make these threats count, all these programs had to continue to bring the goods on the football field. It's a lot easier to complain about a lack of resources or lack of a legitimate opportunity at the CFP when you're winning 9+ games a season. Instead, it's just been in Miami to carry the water for this group. Norvell has FSU in such a down-and-out state, the Seminoles faithful are happy to be within eight points of the Hurricanes these days.
This rivalry, like most things in life and sports, has had ebbs and flows that go in both directions. Outside the time period between 1987-1994, there haven't been too many times when both Miami and FSU were both competing at a championship level. But, this isn't simply a time when the Hurricanes are waiting for the Seminoles to catch up. We're now at a point where it's safe to wonder if FSU is ever going to turn it around. The decision makers around FSU feel like their hands are tied with Norvell, and it's been over a month since they fired the AD, but haven't yet started the search for a new one.
I've read this several times and am still forming my thoughts about what was and wasn't said.

I'll start here with a question: How much, if at all, should it matter that FSU has been doing behind-the-scenes work for the last few weeks and hasn't started its AD search? https://t.co/HAb3ljh1dG
As bad as it's been on the field, it's even worse when the school president basically tells you in so many words that FSU is trying to figure out how to do this athletics thing. Norvell can blame the officials, he can blame the weather, he can blame the boosters, and he can blame Mario Cristobal and Miami for their decision to take football seriously while FSU's brand loses value every day thanks in part to the bad decisions he's made.
Every time Norvell blames someone else for his inability to win at FSU, it's just a greater reflection on the failure that he is.
