As the NFL playoffs kick off on Saturday, 11 Miami football alums are on active rosters. Eight out of the 14 teams competing in the playoffs have Miami alumni. Furthermore, three of the four teams playing on Saturday feature players from the University of Miami.

Linebackers Denzel Perryman and Shaq Quarterman of the Los Angeles Chargers and tight end Brevin Jordan of the Houston Texans began play on Saturday. Jordan is out for the season after tearing his anterior cruciate ligament in September.

Perryman was sixth on the Chargers with 55 tackles and had 2.0 tackles for loss and 3.0 quarterback hits during the regular season. Quarterman had six tackles in 10 games this season. Jordan had two receptions for seven yards before suffering the season-ending injury.

Gregory Rousseau of the Buffalo Bills is likely the most impactful Miami alum playing in the NFL playoffs. Rousseau was ninth on Buffalo with 53 tackles, led the Bills with 16 TFLs, 24 QB hits and eight sacks and tied for the lead with three forced fumbles.

K.J. Cloyd did not play for Denver this season after being added to the Broncos' practice squad on Dec. 10. The experience of being on a playoff team on the road should help Cloyd later in his NFL career. Cloyd was on the Minnesota Vikings and New York Giants during the offseason after being an undrafted free agent.

K.J. Osborn had seven receptions for 57 yards and a touchdown for New England this season before being traded to Washington. In one game for the Commanders, Osborn did not record a reception. Osborn was very productive with Minnesota recording 158 receptions for 1,845 yards and 15 TDs from 2021-2023.

Kamren Kinchens was named to the NFL All-Rookie team with 57 tackles, four interceptions, including a 100-yard return for a TD, six passes defended, one fumble recovery, one forced fumble and one pass defended. Kinchens will be a key player in the Los Angeles secondary to help defend All-Pro WR Justin Jefferson.

Mitchell Agude played in three games for Detroit in 2024 with three tackles and a forced fumble. Michael Badgley has been on the injured reserve since July. Al-Quadin Muhammad has 11 tackles, 4.0 TFLs, 5.0 QB hits and 3.0 sacks in 11 games for Detroit in 2024. Muhammad returned to the NFL after not playing in 2024.

Deon Bush had three tackles in two games during his third season with Kansas City in 2024. Bush played his first six seasons in the NFL with the Chicago Bears. In his first season with Kansas City in 2022, Bush played in 16 games. Bush played in only six games with K.C. during the 2023 season.

Several Miami players will advance this weekend. Bush and the three Lions have the weekend off as Detroit and Kansas City earned a bye by finishing first in their conference. Kinchens and Rousseau are the two most prominent Miami alums to watch during Wild Card Weekend.
