Miami has its toughest remaining game on the 2024 schedule at Louisville on Saturday. The ESPN Football Power Index gives Miami a 55.5 percent chance to beat Louisville. Louisville is ranked 15th by the FPI. FanDuel lists Miami as a 4.5-point favorite at Louisville on Saturday.

Rallies from double-digit deficits in the last two games have cast doubts on undefeated Miami. The Miami wins over Virginia Tech three weeks ago and at California two weeks ago have been well documented. The comeback wins showed the resilience Miami has in 2024.

Miami had a dominant fourth quarter to defeat California. The Hurricanes outscored California 21-3 and outgained the Golden Bears 278-26 in the fourth quarter. Miami is going to need a better start at Louisville. The Cardinals are fifth in the ACC averaging 36.2 points per game. California is 15th at 24.2.

Louisville outscored Miami 15-3 in the fourth quarter to defeat the Hurricanes 38-31 last year. Miami outgained Louisville 486 to 470 in a wide-open game that has been the norm for the Hurricanes and Cardinals in recent meetings. Both teams have different looks in 2024.

"Miami vs. Louisville (+5)
Upset temperature: Warm
Coach Mario Cristobal leads Miami into another challenging matchup at Louisville. The Hurricanes showed vulnerability in recent outings and Cardinals coach Jeff Brohm could expose those weaknesses on defense as one of the underrated Xs-and-Os game planners in the country. Miami does not have a ranked opponent currently on its remaining schedule, but it is essential that the 'Canes do not get caught looking ahead to the postseason."

Miami running back Mark Fletcher ran 17 times for 126 yards and two touchdowns and Xavier Restrepo had eight receptions for a career-high 193 yards and a touchdown. Fletcher could play a key role versus Louisville on Saturday. Restrepo is the top receiver in the ACC in 2024.

Lance Guidry and the Miami defense need a good performance on Saturday throughout the entire game. After allowing four plays of over 50 yards through the first three quarters at California, the Hurricanes were dominant in the fourth allowing the comeback. Miami cannot put itself in that position at Louisville.
