All year long it seems like Bryce Fitzgerald has been in the right place at the right time and Saturday was no exception. Fitzgerald closed out Miami's 10-3 wim over Texas A&M in their CFP first-round game, intercepting Marcel Reed in the end zone with 24 seconds remaining.
It was another big game for the freshman, who had two interceptions, giving him six for the season.

On the play, Reed is looking to get the ball to Aggies tight end Nate Boerkircher in the back of the end zone. Reed doesn't get the necessary height on the pass and Fitzgerald jumps in front of the receiver to make a play on the football.
With the win, Miami will advance to the CFP quarterfinals where the Hurricanes will play Ohio State in the Cotton Bowl on December 31. Kickoff is scheduled for 7:30 p.m.
Fitzgerald has a bright future at 'The U'
With Keionte Scott healthy and back in the lineup, it gave Miami the flexibility to move Fitzgerald around and allow the 6-foot-1, 185-pounder to play both nickel corner and safety.
Earlier in the season, head Mario Cristobal spoke about the talent that Fitzgerald has and how he was able to quickly become an integral part of the secondary.

“He did not join us until the summer. His athleticism and his range and ability to get people on the ball is special," Cristobal said. "He is always around the ball. I think you are going to see monster things from him as the year goes on.”
It turns out Cristobal was correct and as the season progressed, Fitzgerald has answered the bell each time his name was called. In the history of great defensive backs to come through Coral Gables, the mantra has always been the same — big-time players, make big-time plays.
Consider Bryce Fitzgerald the next one in a lineage of big-time players.
