In recent days, the main topic of conversation for Miami Hurricanes football fans has been the blockbuster addition of quarterback Carson Beck. Hey, we don't blame fans for being excited about things, as Beck is going to put on a show in the ACC next fall.

However, don't forget that Miami's Cam Ward is coming off a historic season for the Canes and he's now in the hunt to be taken No. 1 overall in the 2025 NFL Draft. You know what, there's a good chance that's going to end up happening.

In a new NFL Mock Draft from CBS' Mike Renner, he indeed has Ward hearing his name called first once draft night gets here. In a bit of a twist of things, though, he has Shedeur Sanders falling all the way to No. 6 to the Raiders. This makes it feel like a lock that Ward will be the first QB taken off the board, making his way to the Titans. Will this end up happening?

Cam Ward is headed to Tennessee at No. 1 overall in CBS' latest mock draft

"Cam Ward's high-end tools, mixed with his continued improvement, make him easily the most intriguing quarterback prospect in the class," Renner wrote. "The Titans have a lot of work to do surrounding him with talent, but Ward is no stranger to having to create on his own."

What Ward was able to get done in '24 sure was special, as he threw for 4,313 yards and 39 touchdowns. Last offseason, he was debating entering the draft early, but he entered the portal and signed with Miami after looking sharp for Washington State.

That decision has proven to be gold for him, as it indeed looks like he has a fantastic chance to be taken No. 1 overall. Plenty of analysts have things split between Ward and Sanders, but could we see him fall outside of the Top 5?

It really depends on how things go for him during his Pro Day and at the NFL Combine, but that's not something for Ward and Miami supporters to worry about. Soon enough, Ward himself will also be ready to flourish at both showcases, with a potential move to Nashville coming this spring for him too.
