Nijel Pack will miss his second consecutive game and third this season when Miami hosts Mount St. Mary's on Saturday. Pack will repotedly be out indefinitely. Jim Larranaga is using the same starting lineup that helped Miami defeat Presbyterian 94-75 on Sunday
Guards A.J. Stanton-McCray and Divine Ugochukwu, forwards Matthew Cleveland and Brandon Johnson and center Lynn Kidd will start for Miami. Ugochukwu is getting his second start this season and Johnson-Irigu will be making the first start of his collegiate career.
Miami will hopefully gain some continuity using the same starting five as they did versus Presbyterian. Cleveland scored 24 points, Johnson had 22 and Kidd 20 and 11 rebounds in the win over Presbyterian. No other Hurricanes scored in double-figures versus Presbyterian.
Among the starters versus Mount St. Mary's, Kidd leads Miami averaging 11.7 points per game and Johnson tops the Hurricanes posting 7.2 rebounds per contest. Cleveland averages 10.6 PPG and 4.5 RPG. Johnson is averaging 10.1 PPG as one of four Miami double-digit scorers.
Miami needs Defensively he has to help Miami create turnvoers. Ugochukwu needs to take care of the ball and help Miami create turnovers. Ugochukwu has 11 assists and nine turnovers with four steals this season. Staton-McCray has 10 turnovers, 10 assists and 12 steals this season.
Mount St. Mary's is 343rd nationally committing 15.8 turnovers per game. Miami is 344th forcing 9.45 turnovers per game. The Hurricanes are 237th nationally averaging minus 0.7 turnovers per game. With the starting lineup, Miami has versus Mount St. Mary's, taking care of the ball is critical.
After Mount St. Mary's Miami will be off until January 1 when they are at Boston College. Miami is 0-1 in the ACC after losing its opener to Clemson on December 7. Miami is also at Virginia Tech on January 4 before returning home to host Florida State on January 8.,
