The Miami Hurricanes are set to host a pivotal official visit this weekend, welcoming five-star wide receiver Tristen Keys to Coral Gables. Currently committed to LSU, Keys is the nation's top-ranked receiver in the 2026 class and the No. 4 overall prospect, according to the On3 Industry Rankings.
Standing at 6-foot-2 and weighing 180 pounds, Keys hails from Hattiesburg High School in Mississippi. His junior season was nothing short of spectacular, amassing 1,275 receiving yards and 14 touchdowns on 58 receptions.
Keys initially committed to LSU in March, but his upcoming visit to Miami might indicate that his recruitment remains open. This will be his second trip to Miami, having previously attended the Hurricanes spring game in April. The Hurricanes would be ecstatic to welcome Keys into the fold as they have had a ton of turnover at WR and will most likely still be looking for talent in 2026 to replace the 2024-25 WR room.
Miami's recruiting momentum has been noteworthy, recently securing a commitment from five-star offensive tackle Jackson Cantwell. Adding Keys to the mix would not only enhance the Hurricanes offense, but also signal their ability to recruit at the highest level nationally. Currently, Miami has the No. 8 ranked recruiting class in the nation according to On3. If Keys were to be added, Miami could easily finish in the top five when it's all said and done.
While Keys' commitment to LSU remains, Miami's efforts and the allure of immediate playing time could influence his decision. As the recruitment battle intensifies, some will suspect Keys is trying to keep doors open because he is actually thinking about transferring to another school. Others might say that he is doing it to get more money out of LSU — or any potential top bidder for that matter. Regardless, it is a promising development for the Hurricanes as they continue to build off of recent recruiting success.
