The college basketball season has arrived, and No. 14 Miami opens Monday evening against No. 1 Florida in Tampa. The Hurricanes enter Year 2 under Jai Lucas after a strong 26-9 debut campaign that included a trip to the second round of the NCAA Tournament.
Florida, the preseason No. 1 team, returns its dominant frontcourt of Thomas Haugh, Alex Condon and Rueben Chinyelu and carries national title expectations after winning the SEC last season.
Miami's journey toward another strong ACC campaign begins against one of the toughest possible openers. The Gators rank among the nation's elite, particularly on the glass, and this neutral-site matchup in the Orion180 Tipoff Classic will provide an early measuring stick for both sides.
