What to know entering Opening Weekend

The Hurricanes won the Hattiesburg Regional (including a win over national seed Southern Miss) and pushed Louisville to a decisive third game in the Super Regional, falling 3-2 and finishing 35-27 with their first trip to the Supers since 2016.

Miami brings back Daniel Cuvet after a monster 2025 (.372 average, 18 homers, 84 RBI, 20 doubles) and has other proven bats around him, including Jake Ogden (.336, 36 RBI) and Max Galvin (.313, 37 RBI), plus NC State transfer catcher Alex Sosa (.291, 10 homers, 40 RBI).

Miami lost a ton of innings, with multiple arms from last year's staff drafted, so Opening Weekend is also the first real look at how this pitching staff holds up across a full series.

Lehigh brings a veteran program under longtime coach Sean Leary, and the Mountain Hawks have some legit players, including Aidan Quinn (.345 with six homers and 49 RBI) and ace Cole Leaman.

Series history

Miami and Lehigh have barely crossed paths. The Hurricanes lead the all-time series 1-0, with the only meeting a 9-2 Miami win on March 4, 2008.
