O.J. Frederique led All Miami players, was fourth among all cornerbacks and fifth among freshmen nationally in Pro Football Focus grades for his performance versus Georgia Tech on Saturday. Frederique had five tackles and two pass breakups versus Georgia Tech.

Per David Lake of Inside the U, Frederique allowed two receptions for six yards and one touchdown on six targets versus Georgia Tech. Lake also mentioned that Frederique did not miss a tackle versus Georgia Tech and received an 80.9 coverage grade and an 80.7 tackling grade from PFF.

Frederique is in contention for All-ACC and almost certainly will be a true freshman All-American in 2024. With sophomore Damari Brown out since the season-opening 41-17 win at Florida, Frederique has become the most reliable coverage CB for Miami in 2024.

Frederique was the highest second-graded CB in the ACC and had the second-best grade among true freshmen in the conference in week 11. Clemson CB Ashton Hampton was the higher-graded player at the position and among freshmen CBs.

Frederique has 20 tackles, one tackle for loss, seven passes defended and one interception in 2024. The seven passes defended by Frederique are 12th in the ACC and first among freshmen in the conference in 2024. The Miami coaching staff did an exceptional job scouting and developing Frederique.

Frederique was the 779th prospect, 67th CB and 108th player in Florida in the 2024 class. Mario Cristobal and defensive coordinator Lance Guidry clearly saw something in Frederique that most other programs did not. Central Florida, Florida State and West Virginia were the only other Power Four programs to offer Frederique.

Frederique will be critical as Miami plays Wake Forest and Syracuse to finish the regular season. Wake Forest is sixth in the ACC averaging 35.6 passing attempts per game. Syracuse leads the ACC in completions, attempts and attempts per game and is second in passing yards per game in the ACC.
