Mississippi wide receiver Harrison Wallace III is the latest Miami opponent to state he is not concerned with the Hurricanes' defensive line. Wallace was asked, "When opposing teams have really good D-lines like that, does that change the type of routes you run?"

Wallace III responded "We have a great O-line that will hold up and protect, so it don't (sic) really change a lot." The comments from Wallace III were reminiscent of the response Texas A&M offensive lineman Trey Zuhn III provided before their 10-3 loss in the first round of the College Football Playoff to Miami.

Zuhn III said ahead of his matchup against Bain, "I don't think he'll be a threat that we need to worry too much about." Bain finished with 5.0 tackles, 4.0 tackles for loss, 3.0 sacks, 7.0 pressures, 5,0 defensive stops and a blocked field goal against Texas A&M.

Bain had five tackles, 8.0 pressures, 2.0 tackles for loss and 2.0 sacks in the 24-14 Miami win over Ohio State in the Cotton Bowl CFP quarterfinal on Thursday. In the two Miami CFP games, Bain has 8.0 tackles, 15 pressures, 5.5 TFLs and 5.0 sacks.

Inconsistent performances from Wallace III

Wallace III has been wildly inconsistent throughout the 2025 season. In the 41-10 Mississippi Wallace III had two receptions for 19 yards. Wallace III led Mississippi with 156 yards from scrimmage on nine receptions with one TD in the 39-34 win over Georgia in the Sugar Bowl CFP quarterfinal.

Wallace III has three 100-yard games in 2025 and five games with two receptions or fewer and less than 30 yards. The comments from Wallace III came from a player who doesn't always perform at his best in big games. Wallace III had four receptions for 39 yards when Mississippi lost 43-35 to Georgia in the regular season.
