PFF ranks Miami QB unit and Cam Ward number 1 nationally

Cam Ward is the highest graded quarterback by Pro Football Focus and Miami has the highest grade at the position in 2024 with the Hurricanes halfway through their regular season.

Ward has elevated the entire Miami team. Miami has not panicked in the last two games with the big fourth-quarter deficits. Led by Ward Miami is first nationally averaging 47.7 points per game and 583.8 total yards per game in addition to ranking first nationally in passing YPG.

This is mostly due to Cam Ward tying for first among Power Four signal-callers with a 92.3 grade this year. His 17 big-time throws are also second among all quarterbacks in the nation. While it’s come on only 32 snaps, it should be noted that sophomore backup Emory Williams has a 93.5 overall grade as well."

Williams played in exceptional in his one appearance versus Ball State. Miami was leading 38-0 when Williams entered the game versus Ball State early in the third quarter. Williams finished 11-12 for 161 yards, the lone Miami TD pass not thrown by Ward this season and no interceptions.
