3 Miami players ranked in EA Sports College Football 2025 Top 100
Running back Damien Martinez, edge rusher Rueben Bain and wide receiver Xavier Restrepo are the lone Miami players in the EA Sports College Football 2025 top 100. Martinez is the 67th-ranked player nationally in the game, Bain is 78th and Restrepo is 93rd. Noticeably absent is Miami quarterback Cam Ward.
Martinez received an overall grade of 91, an 88 for speed, 94 for acceleration, 82 for strength, 93 for awareness and an 80 jumping grade. Bain received a 90 overall grade, 81 for speed, 92 in acceleration, 91 for strength, 90 for awareness and 82 in jumping.
Restrepo received an overall grade of 90, an 89 for speed, 93 for acceleration, 66 for strength, 95 for awareness and 97 for jumping. If EA Sports had grades for desire and intelligence, Restrepo would be high there too. Restrepo should be a reception machine on the field in 2024 and in the EA Sports College Football 2025 game.
Martinez should be a workhorse for Miami in 2024. Martinez finished 19th nationally in 2023 averaging 98.75 rushing yards per game, running for 1.185 yards and nine touchdowns. The amount of carries Martinez receives in 2024 will likely depend on the health of Miami's leading returning rusher Mark Fletcher.
Fletcher suffered a lisfranc injury in the Pinstripe Bowl loss to Rutgers that could hinder his ability to begin the 2024 season. At 6'2 and 225 pounds Fletcher would likely have a high grade for strength. Fletcher ran for 514 yards and five TDs on 105 carries as a true freshman in 2023.
Bain had a breakout 2023 true freshman season with 44 tackles, 12.5 tackles for loss, 7.5 sacks, three forced fumbles and one pass breakup. After being named the 2023 ACC Defensive Rookie of the Year, third-team All-ACC and a consensus freshman All-American, Bain can compete for All-American in 2024.
Miami is the only ACC program with three players in the EA Sports 2025 College Football top 100. Martinez is the sixth highest-ranked player in the ACC in the EA Sports 2025 College Football top 100. Bain is 14th and Restrepo 15th.
