National Championship head coach Larry Coker, title-winning and two-time Heisman Trophy finalist quarterback Ken Dorsey, double national champion, linebacker Darrin Smith and All-American safety Sean Taylor are on the Hall of Fame Ballot.

Coker was 60-15 in six seasons at Miami with one national championship and a runner-up before later coaching at Texas-San Antonio. Dorsey is the most accomplished quarterback in Miami Hurricanes history. Miami was 38-2 with Dorsey as their starting quarterback. Dorsey led Miami to 34 consecutive wins between 2000 and 2002. That is the fourth-longest winning streak in college football history.

Dorsey held the Miami career passing yardage record with 9,565 yards until he was passed by Brad Kaaya in 2016. Dorsey still holds the Miami career record with 86 touchdown passes and 88 TDs responsible for. In 2001 Dorsey won the Maxwell Award and he was a Heisman Trophy finalist in 2001 and 2002.

Smith is fifth in Miami history with 401 career tackles. As an NFL Player, Smith won two Superbowls with the Dallas Cowboys.

Taylor continued the exceptional line of Miami safeties succeeding All-American Ed Reed. During the 2003 season, Taylor tied the Miami single-season record and led the nation with 10 interceptions initially set by Bennie Blades in 1987. Taylor earned multiple accolades during his Miami Hurricanes career.

Taylor was second-team All-Big East in 2002. In 2003 Taylor won the Jack Tatum Trophy, was the Big East Defensive Player of the Year, Unanimous All-American and First-team All-Big East. Taylor finished his Miami career fourth with 14 career interceptions.
