The Miami football program added another safety to the 2025 class on Saturday with a commitment from four-star prospect Bryce Fitzgerald. Fitzgerald chose Miami over Florida and Florida State. Florida State, Florida and Miami hosted Fitzgerald for official visits in June. Fitzgerald also made an unofficial visit to LSU on May 31.
Fitzgerald is the 130th-ranked prospect, 12th safety and 21st player in Florida out of Miami Columbus in the 2025 class. Miami previously had commitments from four-star safeties Hylton Stubbs and Amari Wallace. Miami is building an elite secondary in the 2025 class.
Fitzgerald had 20 tackles, five interceptions, one pass breakup, one fumble recovery and one forced fumble in 2023 per Max Preps. Andrew Ivins of 247Sports praised Fitzgerald for his ability to diagnose routes and his range, awareness and athleticism. Fitzgerald is the 14th commit in the 2025 Miami class.
Cornerback coach Chevis Jackson was the primary recruiter for Fitzgerald Miami offensive line coach Alex Mirabal who is a Columbus alum was the secondary recruiter for Miami. Including his official visits, Fitzgerald visited Miami a total of six times per On3.
Florida hosted Fitzgerald twice and Florida once per On3. Fitzgerald also had the one visit to LSU per 247Sports. Miami now has 15 blue-chip commits out of 22 commits in the 2025 class. Fitzgerald is the 14th player from Florida to commit to Miami in the 2025 class. Fitzgerald is the fourth-highest ranked commit in the 2025 Miami class.
Stubbs, CB Jaboree Antoine and center Seuseu Alofaituli are the three highest-ranked 2025 Miami commits. Fitzgerald, 2024 signee Zaquan Patterson, Stubbs and Wallace provide Miami with an elite safety group in the future. The 2025 Miami class moves ahead of Oregon up to ninth with the addition of Fitzgerald.
